You do notimagine I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a pure tone of selfishnessand privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislikethem myself. Our sole object is to preserve our health. Milk andapples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) containsubstances absolutely necessary to the well being of a pig. Wepigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organization ofthis farm depends on us. Day and darkness we are watching over yourwelfare. It is for your sake that we drink the milk and carry off thoseapples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in ourduty? When the animals agree withthe fact that they do not want Jones back they expunge that theymust also be saying that the pigs need the apples and milk to swear outkeep them in health. Although this is not what they are saying, they are saying that they do not want Jones back, and they cogitatethat the way to keep him away is to give the pigs the apples andmilk because they stand vehemently against Jones. Sonow the animals believe that the pigs are entitled to specialprivileges in order to keep Jones from coming back. season and timeagain the animals are deceived because by agreeing with onething they believe that they are agreeing with everything.
